Today has been super crazy. It started out with my coffee and green smoothie. But after that it was full on. We are back near our Shipping Container and I am having to pack up our older sons boxes because the Navy will be coming sometime in July to get all of his things – he sure is in for a shock…he has a Lot. Of. Stuff!
Things I Know About My Life In Australia
I so did not plan on going through boxes (yet again) to sort out what we had – and to see what we could actually give away or take to the tip – yep we have more stuff that we do need! But once I started on one box I kept going until it was all done. It took me away from my boys for the day, and away from being in the moment but now that it is done I can relax.
We have it easy in Australia – don’t We?
I mean here I am have a big wine about having to clean out my shipping container of stuff that we have left, getting hot and bothered and cranky because its got to be done…when really we have it damn easy!
Things I Know About Our Life:-
# Things I Know….Life happens. Yesterday and the day before we were still on the road. But we meet a kind man who let us stay in his workshop over night. Which was brilliant as we were able to stay together with our Motorhome.
# Things I Know… We are so lucky – we can easily zip down the road to the shops for food whenever we need it. With money that we have. How amazing is that and yet we take it for granted.
# As I follow Eden journey through Africa, and read her stories about the food crisis I feel so guilty for having food, and for eating when ever I want to. Have you read her journey – it is freaking awesome!
# Things I know….that we are lucky to have a shipping container with our most prized possessions still left in there – we only have photos and books that mean the most to us – yet again we take that for granted!
# The ability to travel around in our Motorhome with our family rocks! I mean it – yes we were broken down at Caltex on the main highway just after Maryborough – but it was a great adventure…one we can tell our grandkids when we are way older (hear that kids – so NOT ready to be a grandma yet!!)
# That my time in Melbourne was far too short…I so wished I was able to have dinner with my older son, but his not allowed off base during the week.
# Things I Know – That staying at the Novotel in St Kilda was the best…that spa bath – I so want one of those in our Motorhome! Not sure how that is possible but hey I can dream cant I?
# After going to Seaworld we decided that we thought it was the best experience for all of our family – it was so cool how they had the high ropes for Cameron and David to explore.
# Things I Know….we sure live in the lucky country – I mean where else can you live, travel, explore and still have what you need? Saying thankyou to the universe more often from now on.
# That it pays to have money in your debit visa card to pay the Melbourne Toll way before the three days ran out (more about that soon!)
This Tree Looks Like Its Living On The Outside 🙂
# So lucky that our boys get to spend time with their Grandparents, and their cousin for Easter – not so lucky that our older son is not with us…but he is fine as he gets to spend Easter with my brothers in Canberra!
# Very happy that tomorrow I can sit and relax, maybe by the swimming pool, or maybe go for a canoe ride on the river.
# Lucky that we are able to travel up North and look for a place to spend a few months exploring before heading to another place – cant wait to hit the road again!
# Amazed with how many wonderful people have read this far – you guys are amazing, and you rock!

New Life on the Road
popped by Edenland for a read – having grown up in Pakistan, I find it so interesting reading someone’s first time to a third world country. The culture shock is remarkable and Eden expresses it really well. Thanks for the link. We are so blessed to be living here!

So glad that you were able to jump on over and check out Eden post about the food crisis in Africa. It sure is amazing how differnet they have it compared to here – lining up to at the womens clinic for hours on end, in the sun, without chairs! And then feeding their babies whenever and wherever they want to – that is real.
Eden journey is told from the heart, and she is doing such a good job – sharing the shock and sharing the story of what is going on. Hope that more people can now read about Africa and realise what is really going on.
I know that not many people realise just how lucky we are, living here. We have so many basic things and services that look after people as best they can. I don’t take any of that for granted.
I love that tree photo…
Thanks for linking up this week 🙂
I, too, wish you could have stayed a bit longer, so we could have a proper catch up. Maybe I’ll have to catch you, wherever and whenever you are settled next…

The tree was amazing – not seen one like it.

That tree was incredible – it was almost like it was alive on the inside and the outside 🙂

We do have a pretty good life! Thanks for the Happy Easter Wishes 🙂 Happy Easter to you and family xxx
Had a grand week-end. Where we are born is so random and plays a huge role in how easy our life is.

Hi Jan,
Never thought of that before…the location of our birth as being a part of how our life is! Interesting concept 🙂

We really are so lucky… I am lucky to be sitting here typing this comment after reading your blog, yet I complain bitterly about the terrible internet access we have here….
It is so easy to take for granted how lucky we are, so easy to forget that there are people living right near us who are not so lucky….

Hi Kate,
We sure are lucky – we dont realise how much we do have in Australia compared to other countries.
So very true (we do take people for granted) and so very true about the slow internet..yet we are lucky that we have Internet!
Cheers
