On our travels over the years we have stayed in many different places, and many different styles of accommodations over the years. From Free Camping destinations – found with our Camp 7 Book, to sleeping near the beach in our Campervan, to pulling up in rest stops in our Motorhome, to sleeping in tents, to traveling with our Camper van and Camper trailer, to finding a hotel because David and Kyle were not well, to even staying at beautiful hotels/motels.
Oh and there was a time when I stayed in a Back packers in Melbourne. That was one scary funny story that I can’t wait to share with my Grandkids, one day! Where to Stay while Traveling Australia is a question I hear many times on other traveling blogs, facebook pages and when speaking with travelers – its getting harder and harder to do free camping with all of the rules and regulations that are coming into place.
Don’t Just Dream It ::
Its not how you travel that’s important, its not the destination its the Journey that counts. And we have stickers that Kyle has made {you can have a free sticker for your car/caravan, just let us know!} with the motto “Don’t Just Dream It, Do It”. We are getting ready for more of that motto to be put into place, with many ideas of how to make that happen!
If you too want one of Kyle’s stickers all you have to do is contact us via lisawsdream@gmail.com and I can send you one for free!
Our Favorite Style of Travel ::
By far we love Free Camping – we have a Free Camping Spot in New South Wales that we will be sharing soon. If you are connected with us on Instagram or Facebook you would have seen our Pictures of “Lake Tabourie” – its past Ulladulla in New South Wales and its located on the Beach/River. The most amazing place – even if we froze our back sides off!
I am getting ready for another trip back to Sydney in a few weeks time – another Birthday Party to go to – and am lucky that I have a son that I can stay with. I am going to hire a car while there so that I can travel to see all of my family – when we were down there a few weeks back I ran out of time to see all of my family which was a shame so I am making sure I can catch up this time.
Another Favorite Style Of Traveling ::
I must admit I am the type of Girl who can travel any which way, I love Free Camping {never used to when growing up!}, but at the same time I love to travel with style, and stay in Hotels. Especially would love to stay somewhere that has a Bath Tub! Yeah I am a sucker for a good soak, don’t have one in our Motorhome, and its one thing that I do miss. Have you ever stayed in a Chatswood Serviced Apartment in Sydney? The Sebel? We have stayed in the Hilton – many years ago, when a family member was getting married.
And yeah I made use of the bath tub there! A few months back we stayed in an serviced apartment in Brisbane – just Hubby and I – and again I made use of their bath tub – didn’t use the shower once there!! I actually prefer serviced apartments compared to hotels because that way David {or I} can make our meals, and we have somewhere to wash clothes/spread out when we are relaxing in the room. Mind you when we stay somewhere new we normally are out and about exploring.
Another Style of Travelling ::
We haven’t tried back packing as yet! But I reckon we could easily work out how we could achieve that style of traveling. Down sizing from a house into a 10 meter Motorhome means that we have downsized a fair bit – actually we have down sized heaps. It would be interesting to see if we could down size enough to fit everything we need into Back Packs.
Kyle has asked to walk from Wollongong to Sydney, and we haven’t done that as yet, I reckon if we did it would have to be in Summer time because it would be freezing to walk that path in Winter time. There is a track from Wollongong to Sydney, not sure how long it would take to cross that off our Bucket List. Not sure what we would do when we reached our destination – walk back to our vehicle or catch a train back?
Interesting thought! We have been crossing off dreams on our Bucket List – seeing Whales in the Ocean, driving to Barrington Tops, seeing Outback Spectacular, having one of our sons Jump out of a perfectly good plane to Sky dive!!!, to seeing the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, to staying in tents while it was snowing!
We Can’t Wait To Continue This New Life of Ours. Where To Stay While Traveling Australia – do you have your favorite way of traveling?
What Style Do You Like To Travel In?
Cheers
