The Money from “Thats Life” magazine came through last week. The cheque of $600.00 cleared in our bank account (after the three days waiting period!). Over the weekend we tried to purchase the World Vision Gift (s) but the Page kept on freezing our computer and we gave up after trying for about 30 minutes!
So yesterday I got onto the phone, spoke to a lovely World Vision Staff member and made the best donation of my entire life! Actually I got goose bumps while I was speaking on the phone ~ thinking what a difference New Life on the Road can make for those that are in need and to a charity we love to support!
So What Did We Purchase?
World Vision has a Gift Page set up. After much talking with our family, and our readers we decided that a Cow, A Donkey and Food For Life was the way to go!
What Does The Gift Mean?
Purchasing A Cow Will ::
Provide a family with milk and valuable calves.
“Cows supply nutritious milk to help keep children strong and healthy, and their manure can be used to generate biogas fuel to power stoves and lighting. Cows can also help with ploughing and produce calves to sell for extra income”
Purchasing A Donkey Will ::
Important pack animals, donkeys can help carry heavy bags of wheat and jugs of water.
“Donkeys can easily navigate steep mountain trails, hauling water or carrying produce to market. They can also be hired out to generate income”
Purchasing Food For Life Will::
Help families grow a range of nutritious food.
“With a bag of seeds, a chicken and chicken feed, a market garden starter pack, a fish farm and fruit trees, a family could have the tools they need to grow nutritious food for their children with plenty of extra to sell for income”
What Will We Do Next?
David and I have been talking about how good it felt to give to a charity that we both love. And how Buying World Vision Gift (s) is more suitable to our lifestyle. From this month onwards we will be buying gifts ~ there are many different ways to give to World Vision.
One way is by sponsoring a child, or by buying items such as pencils for school, Bag of Seeds, Chicken and Feed, School Materials, Duck, Toys, Fish Farm, Blanket, Sports Equipment…..and the list goes on! Actually there is three pages of World Vision Gifts to choose from.
We are thinking that we will start at page one and work our way through each item that can be purchased! That way we can give and make a difference.
What Can YOU Do To Help?
If you would like to be help with donations let me know ~ we have team “New life on the Road” ready to donate every month. If all of you (we have 11,000 unique readers every month!!!) put a few dollars together ~ image what we could give to World Vision every month?
We would Love to purchase a Stable Full of Animals ~ $1,215.00 or even a House reconstruction kit for $1.345.00 …now that WOULD be a blast!
What Gift Wood Would You Love To Give?
Cheers

It’s really heartwarming that there are people who are ready to help others. It can be through engaging in community activities even sending out donations. Thank you for sharing this wonderful deed.
Hi Gregg,
