Yesterday was Fathers Day here in Australia. With all of our Motorhome issues and STILL being on the side of the road I wanted to make the day the best ever for David. Even though we are missing one of our sons {he is over in Perth} I still wanted a Happy Fathers Day for David.
It started with lots of good things….I woke him up during the night to say “Happy Fathers Day David” – it was a moment where we could spend time together before the day started.
When we woke in the Morning I got Cameron to hand him his Gift….a Pair of Bonds Undies with the words “You might need these for your next gift”
Which was a Adrenalin Scenic Joy Ride with Southern Biplanes – a 30 Minutes over Wollongong area Gift Voucher. All he needs to do is now find the time to book it!
{And yep Terrance Peck we sure hope to have lots of wonderful Pictures to share from the experience, I am keen to have a picture or two of David up there because there is no way I would be brave enough to fly in such a small plane!!}
Then it was a quick breakfast {yep our boys MUST eat when they wake up or they go on a sugar low and its not pretty} and then a mad dash to the caravan park for showers – both Cameron and Kyle was still in PJ’s.
We had time to warm up, get dressed in good clothes and then head to our secret location.
I got David to turn around so that I could program the GPS. That way he was driving to a certain spot without knowing what we were doing, nor did he know who was turning up for it!
We had booked Breakfast at”Sea Vista Cafe” in Gerringong during the week, our oldest Son had breakfast there a little while ago and was keen to return.
And we had arranged for our oldest son to drive down from Sydney to join us…so our booking was for 10.00am. Enough time for our boys Porridge to move over for another breakfast, enough time to have us all sitting down at the table and enough time for our oldest son to surprise David.
You see David had been asking what our Oldest Woody Son was up to on Fathers Day, and I made out that he was “Too Busy” to join us….I am not good at keeping secrets from David so I was very non-committed with my explanations of where he was and what he was doing…preferring to say that I wasn’t sure where he would be or what he was doing!
David sat down at the table with his back to the door, and our oldest Woody Son walked on up and put his hand on David’s Shoulder and said “Hey, how’s it going?”….
To say David was surprised was the biggest understatement. Looking back on Yesterday I so wished I had thought to some how get Zachery over for a “surprise” visit…not sure why I didn’t think to arrange that??
Sea Vista Cafe Breakfast ::
Cameron, Kyle and David had the “Big Breakfast”
Nicholas had a Bacon and Egg Burger, Milkshake and a Banana Bread {the first time he has eaten any food with us in ages!}
Oldest Woody Son had Eggs Benedict ::
I Had The Vegetarian Breakfast ::
After everyone had eaten…..
We went to the small park in Gerringong but there was a lot of smaller children and our boys are getting to big for smaller playgrounds…we decided that we needed some where that our boys could run their energy off so we all drove down to “Black Head” in Gerroa, next to seven mile beach.
We have been there before, but not with our oldest son. Its a great place to learn about the history of the area as there are many “fossilised rocks with tress and wood”, as well as rocks that are formed in different shapes.
Mind you last time we went it was way warmer then yesterday!
On the Beach {Black Head Beach} there are always something to find, to discover and to explore. Looking down we saw dried up “Bluebottles” – not sure if they still have the “Sting” effect because they have been out of the water for some time, sure wasn’t going to test it to find out!
He had an important phone call come in when we started walking…..actually he must be really popular cause his phone never ever stops beeping when ever we are with him! Facebook seems to have his attention as well as texting all the time!
Our Oldest with our youngest – they thought they saw penguins but when they got closer they realised that it was birds! Watching them walking together, as brothers, melted my heart. Its so good when they get along, makes life worth living for.
We walked for sometime before coming across this Rock Wall. Someone had started it….and our boys were so very happy to add more rocks to it! They soon made it wider and higher, and added more rocks in the front. When we left it was still there for others to have fun with!
If you follow us over on Instagram or Facebook you will know that we keep finding “Love Hearts” where ever we are exploring! All you need to do is “Look” for an object and you will find it! Its the the Law Of Attraction thing! Works every time…you so should try it 🙂
David soon was helping Cameron to build a rock wall – showing him how to place the rocks in a certain way to make a wall stronger – that’s another homeschooling unschooling lesson for our boys, the best way they learn.
Yep he ran around so much with his Biggest Brother chasing him! And so he layed down on the road, and asked us to run over him…..of course we didn’t and of course it was just his crazy weird sense of humour but it was funny at the time!
I wanted to make sure David had a great Fathers Day because he works so very hard for his family, and everything he does is for his boys….I wanted to make sure he realised how much we all love him.
His Favorite ::
At the end of the day we ask each other “What’s Your Favorite” from the day……David’s Favorite was “Making sure the day was full of surprises and was special with all the effort you went to”. So Happy Fathers Day David – So glad you got to spend it on something other than working or repairing the Motorhome!
