The sun was out today and I was keen to explore the area of where we are parked up! We went down a “No Through Road” and found a foot path, with a bridge and then kept walking and walking…..through long grasses, over creek beds, through mud, over dead trees, along path ways others have taken, along patches of grass that no one had stepped on before, trying to jump over water {yeah I slipped and got more muddy then if I had walked through it}
Basically we Went For A Walk And Got Lost!
Found Ponies…
Another Great Spot for Kyle to return to for fishing….
Stumbled upon a Teenagers Cubby Spot {Or teenagers Retreat} who let us know that we were heading in the right direction to get back to the Industrial Area.
And we had fun….even if Cameron was so upset that we walked through too much mud.
And I smiled. Big Smiles because we had discovered more of Oak Flats that we would not have found if we were not here!
Yes Cameron decided to walk along the way with his Homeschooling books…he wanted to finish his Maths Book work so that when he got home he could play on his “Tab”
We walked past this Motorhome called “Footloose” – but it must be an American Motorhome because there was no door on the passenger side?
After walking along the road he walked “Off Road” into Bush Land….not sure why but I forgot to take Photos of our wild walk! We got muddy, walked over creek beds and through grass that was high! It was such a great walk….getting Lost was fun!
Kyle spent all afternoon on getting the wood ready for a “Choofer” but unfortunately it was far too windy for it tonight. Hopefully tomorrow night the wind dies down so that we can sit around together and enjoy the Fire and have dinner cooked on it….its been a long time since we have used our Choofer because the caravan park we are staying in cant have an open flame!
Today Is Are You Okay Day here in Australia ::
So I am asking you “ARE YOU OKAY”? As A Mum who suffered severe Postnatal Depression with one of our Sons….and who suffers from Depression from time to time I want to make sure that you know you are not alone….
If you are suffering then reach out to those that are strong enough to hold you up…..
If you are not feeling yourself then touch base with someone who can help you, someone who will listen and understand.
Its okay to say that you are not Okay, be brave enough to let someone that loves you help you. Those dark moments will pass and the sunlight will come back out stronger than ever.
Please know that you are loved, and you are important.
Are You Okay?
Cheers
Lisa
New Life on the Road
I’m guessing that was Slater’s Bridge you found. My hubby would know, he was raised in Barton St Oak Flats.
Karen Leschnik recently posted..Not much action at the house today.
Thanks Karen for letting me know – had no idea what the Bridge name was 🙂
Small world!
Hi,
I enjoyed reading your blog! I love the photos of the places you’ve been to. These photos are memories to last you a lifetime. The places you have been to and are going to see need not be forgotten. I can’t wait to read more about your travels and view your wonderful photos.
You can actually share your photos and videos to more people. I discovered an awesome website that lets you share pictures and videos and helps you remember specific locations you’ve traveled to.
Have you ever taken photos on a trip only to get home and not be able to remember where you took “that” shot? http://www.Trailu.com is your Travel log, Travel Diary or travel companion. As long as your phone or camera is set as “GEO Tagging” or “Location Tagging” to ON, the GPS data of exactly where you took the photo will be decrypted from your photo and #Trailu.com will place your photo on your very own personal travel log map of the world so you can quickly and easily see every photo you’ve taken and exactly where it was taken.
Just yesterday I was talking to my #travel buddy that I do a “blokes Trip” with once a year and I was looking at a photo that I swore was taken in Da Nang in Central Vietnam – But when I uploaded it, the GPS data said it was taken in Southern Vietnam and then I compared it to other photos the same day and yep, it was taken in Vung Tau in Southern Vietnam.
Very powerful and totally FREE – I hope it is useful to you. It’s very user-friendly and you’ll never forget those wonderful places you’ve traveled to. Just create an account (quick and easy) and share your amazing photos for more people to see and enjoy.
I really hope to see all your photos on the Trailu site!
I had a sticker on my first car that read ‘Don’t follow me I’m LOST’
my best friend gave it to me, she knows me well.
I love your day of getting lost and finding so many wonderful spots to just be with the kids and enjoy.
