Its a very sad day here for New Life on the Road. We are Saying Goodbye To New Life on the Road Facebook Page.
Due to recent changes with Facebook pages/settings and the fact that the Facebook Owner is now selling everyone private information to bigger companies – all of your phone log is being recorded from your texts to your phone calls to your pictures to your emails are now being monitored and sold onto who ever requests it and pays for it.
The other day I shared a picture of our dog and our son at the beach. Which I loved to do – share and connect with others.
To find out that someone has shared that picture to their own page but I am not allowed to find out who shared and why they shared it. So my pictures can be used and shared and I am not allowed to know why or who by? But because its a facebook page I am not allowed to change my settings to keep my pictures safe?
SO its okay for Facebook to share and sell your personal information but its not okay for you to be protected and kept safe? Yeah i am not helping the facebook owner to become more corrupt then he already is, and richer then he already is.
So I am closing down my personal facebook page as soon as I can as well as New Life on the Road Facebook page. Its such a sad day because we have made so many amazing friends online through our page, and our photos/stories have inspired so many.
But my true friends have my phone number, and I can be contacted here or via email. Again I am keen to disconnect online to reconnect with real people. Facebook Fakebook is no longer what it used to be – and it is taking away from real life. So family and friends you will know how to stay in touch with us all.
Its time to really live my life true to myself. Even if I feel like I am cutting my arm off!
this is from our magical stay at the Sunshine Coast.
We went down to Moffat Beach on the Saturday
where all these amazing dogs turned up, running around
off their leads, all different types of dogs, all different sizes
all having so much fun! I want more days like this one!
And after the weekend away at Kilkivan Camping and Caravan ground where there was no internet connection, no phone reception and no distraction from the real world, I feel like I need this final chapter in my life closed off.
I feel like its a direction that I am needing to take, and one that will benefit my family.
So its a sad day Saying Goodbye to New Life on the Road Facebook Page, but its also a good day as I will be able to really live my day to day life without the distraction of Fakebook!
For all those who dont have my number or email address, let me know below here and I will be happy to get in touch via email and we can connect and stay in touch that way.
This feels very sad, but so very good at the same time.
Are You Ready to Disconnect Online to Reconnect?
Cheers
Lisa
New Life on the Road
Thinking about doing the same thing Lisa. Now we can get photos of family easily through the ph, (FB was why I joined originally), I think I will let it go also
Cheers
Mark and Jo
Hi Mark and Jo,
Yeah I only use my personal facebook page to stay in touch with my family now 😉
I would love to get rid of it altogether but with our older sons its sometimes the only way to get in touch with them 🙂
Hope you both are well xxx
Good comments. I seldom use it (FB), but my wife does…and was attacked “verbally” by some idiotic troll for a simple comments she posted the other day.
I doubt she’ll want to give it up, either. (Part of why its become so successful is that people “feel” like they have to have/be part of it…)
So very sorry that your wife was attacked by those that are hiding behind the computer screen…..no-one would be game enough to speak like that to a persons face but hiding behind a screen gives them courage to be so nasty.
