As we are driving around seeing more of Wollongong we started to look at the areas we are driving through. We noticed that Wollongong Houses are varied between big and vast, to run down smaller looking homes who either need a lot of T & C or even to be pulled down and started over!
I love looking at Houses ~ I reckon that David and I would make a great team for something like “The Block” or even Renovating Houses as a full time Job ~ with his skills/perfection and my style we could add lots of value to existing older style homes!
But Maybe this House Is Not Worth Saving ::
We drove past this house a few weeks back, and its been on my mind. So I drove back and took a heap of photos..oh if only the walls could talk to me!! I feel like this house is crying, to be left like this ?
Who owns it? Surely someone cares about the condition it is in? Even with David’s useful skills I am not sure he could save it? I feel like its so heartbreaking to see a house become so run down, and in such poor conditions ~ almost like its against the law to let it get that bad. Wonder what happened to the people living in it…I sure hope they are doing OK?
Its almost like its heart is broken ~
smashed, dreams taken and life turn in two.
Its like look into a soul ~
if only this house could speak….what would it say?
Then within the same street, only just around the corner you have huge homes that are built on style, and looked after by their owners…..
This home is gorgeous. From the grass trimmed to perfection, to the big wooden doors, to the glass balcony to even how open style it is yet still has its own privacy walls. And its not like its the only one in the area….
The vast Differences ~
all within the same Street!
And its the same no matter what Suburb you drive through in Wollongong. David and I were talking about how big some of the houses are, and how some are so run down.
We think that the area is going through a “New Life”style change. Where younger people from Sydney are coming down to purchase homes because of the cheaper Prices of Houses and are able to renovate them because they do have the extra money!
I love the style of this House ~
Be great to have this one on acreage!!
A few streets away and you will find this ::
This house is so bad that at one stage it had Tape around it – a bit like Police Tape. Not sure if it was damaged from a house fire, or left vacant for people to destroy or if its age got to this little shack. It would be great to see inside to see if its savable, or if its too far gone!
Another House….another Story. This one is next door to the house pictured above…and again it needs a Lot of T & C.
Oh if only these Wollongong Houses called talk to us! They need to be given a huge facelift, and need someone that will love the walls they live in.
After all a house is a home…a mans castle. Its where memories are made, family is added to, birthday’s are celebrated, and love is created.
That To Me Is What Houses Are.
Would You Renovate Or Pull Down Any Of These Wollongong Houses?
thanking you for following our journey.
Cheers
Lisa
New Life on the Road.
Hi Lisa,
I love looking at old homes also the older they are the more history they have and the more stories they may be ablt to tell.
we once lived in an old home in Melbourneit was built in the late 1800s maybe I could write about the time we spent there.

Old houses are wonderful – so much history behind them!
Would love to read your experience about your Melbourne House – sounds incredible 🙂
There sure are some sad houses:(
My Brother lived for many years until recently in the Gong, in a suburb called Fairy Meadow.
What a lovely name for a suburb. Whenever I addressed a letter to him I thought of fairies dancing in a meadow. 🙂

Jan – I still can’t get over the house that has been trashed with broken windows/doors and the furniture left everywhere…I so feel for the people that must have been living in there – I just don’t get it 🙁
Fairy Meadow sounds gorgeous…haven’t come across that suburb yet!
