Today is Monday! Which means our Regular Featured Travel Blog Post. Where we ask another Family to share a little bit of why they want to travel, and where they have travelled.
I love reading about other families as it gives me so much inspiration to get out and explore. I also hope it is giving you the inspiration to follow your dreams, be it travelling or be it what ever you dream about!
Today we are proud to share Marina (and Family) from Travel Experta…..
Q:- You have travelled to 6 countries, and lived in over 10 US states, is there one place that you would say feels like home, and has taken a bit of your heart?
I love living in Antigua, Guatemala. This is where we are right now and we have to leave here soon and it’s not only taken a bit of my heart but my kids heart as well. The people who are here, the amazing friends we made and the beauty of this tiny colonial city makes it a perfect place to want to settle down and never leave.
Q:- With your two gorgeous sons, who can speak more than one language, do they do homeschooling while travelling, or go to the local schools?
We Always send our kids to local schools. I prefer small schools with lots of personal attention. If possible, bilingual, but it’s the intimate settings and plenty of room for them to run around. Boys need serious energy burning spaces 🙂

Q:- You say that the travel bug has caught a hold of you, and that you have visited over 35 countries. Where do you plan on heading to next?
We are off to Santiago, Chile. It’s not really my top choice, but my husband is getting his PhD there and we are off to live there, most likely, the beginning of 2013.
However, I am thrilled to explore South America again. This time with my family and to show my kids what a gorgeous continent it is! It will be like a rediscovery for me, seeing it throw their eyes.
Q:- Did you and your family travel when your boys where babies? Do you have any hints/tips on how other families can travel happily with young ones?
Absolutely! My two-year old made his first long trip when he was three months old and before the age of two he already was in seven countries. My oldest, eight years old, has been traveling since four months old on planes, cars, you name it. There is no stopping us.
The #1 tip is TRAVEL! Don’t let the fear or terrible advice from others of traveling with babies ever stop you. As long as kids are occupied and have stimulation along with their mama and papa, they are so much fun.
Tip #2 – slow down. With kids, it’s about really doing things slowly. They get tired faster, so you will be spending a lot more time in your hotel room, but this also gives you more of a chance to enjoy the place too.

Now that looks like so much fun 🙂
Q:- Do you and your amazing hubby work while you travel? Or do you work, save up the money, and take the time off to travel?
I can work anywhere, since I’m all online. But my hubby, on the other hand, can’t. However, due to his work and studies he is the one that relocates us. I prefer to simply take off two – three months to travel, but return to the same home.
Q:- If there was one thing that you could say to sum up your dream lifestyle, what would it be?
For me to continue successfully working online, to have a permanent home where we have a great social network – but travel for a minimum of three months out of the year!
