Today we did what Kyle wanted! He loves fishing. We have been promising to take him back to a spot that he had seen awhile ago, he thought it would make an ideal fishing spot, and being Kyle he was right.
See that Chair out there, that is where Kyle is sitting! Yep he is sitting on that chair, almost being blown away it was that windy today.
Yes he caught a fish. Unfortunately it was far too small so he had to let it go back to the sea. But his smile, oh his smile says it all. He loved that he caught a fish.
I am not sure now if this was the same one or another undersized fish? I do know that he caught four smallish fish while we were down at Fairymead.
And then the icing on the cake –
David measured the Crab, unfortunately it was 1.5cm under size! It was a male but because it was under the minimum Kyle had to let it ago 🙁
Not sure how Kyle would go with having to clean the crab and cook – one time in New South Wales he was given a Fish by a guy who caught it but didn’t want to keep it. David and he cleaned it together, and then cooked it on a BBQ. Kyle couldn’t bring himself to eat it after seeing how it was cleaned!
He soon realised that it was getting late, and we needed to get out of the wind/sun so he headed happily back to the campervan. Another day, another time we will have to return to Fairymead Fishing Spot, its past a fishing ramp, at the end of a road, and is very popular spot because there was lots of fishing people coming and going the whole time we were there. He Almost Caught Dinner, maybe next time the big one will be caught.
He had the best day, and his smile was worth us trying to keep out of the wind, and not get too burnt.
Does Your Children Like To Fish?
