After picking up “Earmuffs” from Spaceship rentals in Sydney I dashed back to the motorhome to pack everything up = Also had to stop at Aldi for food shopping.
Check this out……My oldest son was trying to keep our younger two boys entertained – they started to play a game {no idea what the game was} while waiting at Spaceship Campervan Rentals for our campervan to be ready. This there is what makes my day, my boys playing games together and having fun!
I was very lucky to be able to spend the previous night at my oldest son’s place in Sydney. And was so very lucky that he had the day off to take us to the campervan factory which was so close to his place.
Now that we have gone Grain and Sugar free our lunch meals are becoming something different and interesting….its a bit hard to find products to eat that don’t have sugar and with out bread I am trying to cook up interesting yummy meals.
I thought that I had stocked up enough food for the trip – but I forgot how much they can eat when they are cold! So yes I did give them Baked Beans for dinner one night, and yes they did eat them! Funny how they are trying new food because they are hungry and its all we have to eat.
Heading To Our First Stop ::
We left Wollongong about 4.00pm, way later then I wanted to but packing, food shopping and filling up all of our water bottles {our big water containers} takes some time. Guess I should have packed our clothes the day before so that I didn’t have so much to do on the Thursday!
Using our Camps 7 Book I had sourced a Rest Area half way to Eden that I wanted to reach the first night. It was roughly half way which made the trip easier instead of driving all the way to Eden in one day!

normally I take our Camps 6 Book with us when away but this time
I was travelling without a GPS and I wanted pictures to see if rest areas would be suitable for our quick over night stays!
Very basic yummy meal – Chicken with Mixed Veggies with a tin of Pineapple added to the Fry Pan {including the Juice from the Pineapple} with salt and pepper. So very easy and yummy.
I think that this was taken when Kyle was either going to bed, or when he was waking up? Can’t remember but I don know that he is a Donna Hog!
We used the back door cover at Waldrons Swamp Rest Area to give us more space for sleeping, Kyle and I shared the Mattress – mind you he wouldn’t sleep any where near his Mum so he slept side ways at the edge of the mattress while I slept at an angle, making sure I was not touching him.
Kyle spotted this drawing on a Picnic Table and wanted to take a Picture – he was wondering who did the drawing!!!
Watching the sun come up before heading to Eden was magical, with a hot cup of Coffee and breaky finished we were on our Way. And we all survived our first night together, actually it was a good night sleep after driving so late in the afternoon, and we were so very excited to head to Eden.
Spoke with the Guy from this cool set up – he built the Caravan to match his Hot Rod. Its set up at the back to hold all the food and cooking area while enough space for two of them to sleep inside! They travelled from Cairns and was heading to Eden to join the Whale Festival 🙂
Narooma is so very pretty – wished we had time to stay there and explore, maybe another time!
I love Rest Stops where you can pull off the road enough to not hear the traffic at night time when you are trying to sleep.
Waldrons Swamp Rest Stop Features ::
- Drop Toilet
- No drinking water
- Picnic Tables – not cleaned
- Hard ground – bring a Hammer with you to put up the tent!
Do You Have A Favorite Rest Stop When Travelling?

We were not paid to write or say anything about their services or vehicle, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
Spaceships Rentals are in Sydney Australia {as well as major cities around Australia} along with Spaceships New Zealand and the Spaceships Rental United Kingdom.
Here is a Great Map showing you the distances of Sydney to Waldrons Swamp to Eden
The area down there really is gorgeous. Your chicken meal looks delish and I love the addition of pineapple. That vintage car with the wooden caravan was amazing! Happy travels Lisa!
