Sharing Where The Heck We Are so that you can understand easily where New Life on the Road are at the moment. Why we are here and What The Heck happens next.
We Are In The Wollongong Area
No I wont Tell You Here Where Exactly due to our personal reasons
But I will tell you this….
We are here because of our Older Sons – One is overseas at the moment with a Navy Operation and another one is in Melbourne with Basic Training.
We are here because David promised his Boss 12 months of work
We are here because our Motorhome Fuel Pump is getting re-built by another company that David’s Boss knows of, as well as the Fuel Injectors need rebuilding along with the springs need rebuilding.
We are here because in three weeks time we have to be in Melbourne for our second son’s march out parade.
We are here because in February our Oldest Woody Son returns from out at Sea and we are super excited, wanting to be on that dock when he gets off the ship! Mind you we won’t be here in Wollongong around that time…..no idea exactly where we will be by then but it has to be close to Sydney
We are here because we have to be!
Yet We Are Exploring ::
Since we have been here we have been to the following Places ::
Sydney {many times including for the Vivid Sydney and Luna Park}
Bondi Beach
Thirroul
Nowra – many times to visit the Playground there and to visit Air Arm Fleet Museum
Mogo – Back to where our Motorhome came from!!
Batemans Bay
Greenwell Point
Shoalhaven Heads
Gerriongong
Kiama – Visiting Both the small Blow Hole and the Bigger Blow Hole
Shellharbour
Jamberoo
Berry Famous For Their Donuts!
Kangaroo Valley
Robertson
Fitzroy Falls
Port Kembla – visiting Hill 60 Lookout
BaldHill Lookout
Picton – For Lunch
Mittagong
Bowral
Belmore Falls
Wollongong – Visiting the Library, Science Center, HangDog Climbing, Monoxide Circus, Lake Illawarra, Flagstaff Hill, Sea Cliff Bridge, Bulli Pass Lookout, ….and so many other places that I am sure I have forgotten about!
So yes we are doing as many day trips as possible! Does that mean we are on the Road? Well you tell me exactly what means by that statement? We live in a Motorhome. Full Stop. We don’t have a House to fall back on – we sold it.
We don’t have furniture to go back to – we sold all of our unnecessary stuff – once our second son picks up his lot from the shipping container there is not going to be much left!!
We don’t plan on selling our Motorhome anytime soon – but I guess plans can change if they have to.
Where The Heck To Next?
When we first started this journey – way back in October 2010 we had no idea what/how/why/where/when/who or anything about our New Life on the Road.
We do know that First Taste of Life on the Road <——–Click on those Red Words to Take you back to the very Beginning!! – started when David picked up the Motorhome from Mogo with a great mate.
We do know that our passion for travel is still running deep in our Veins.
We do know that getting out there and showing our boys Australia keeps our dream alive every single day.
We do know that we are meeting people who make a difference to our life
We do know that we are never ever going to want to settle down in a home ever again {sorry to my Family who can’t understand that!}
We do know that we should have done this many years ago instead of waiting for so long….so if you have young ones and you are wondering if you should try travelling – DO IT. After all what have you got to lose? The younger the better, especially before the teenage years where they want to form strong friendships.
I do know that I love Blogging. I have been pressured lately and it was all getting too much so I did take a break. Well guess what? That break is over and I am back here when I can find the time.
I do know that from now on I won’t let the negative self talk of others influence me…this is my life and I will live it the way I feel comfortable with 🙂
I do know that from no one I wont be judging a book by its cover.
I do know that I am sorry if I have ever seemed like you were not important, you as our readers Rock 🙂
And I am glad the journey can continue.
So TELL me…..
where should we visit next?
We are doing as many day trips as possible at the moment until we find a solution where I can do a few nights away at a time.
Give us your tips of where we should go to next.
Thanking you for following our Journey.
Cheers
Lisa
New Life on the Road.
Is Tulip Time still on in Bowral? That’s about 30 mins further than Robertson if you drive up Macquarie Pass. Berrima is up that way too & has the oldest continual licensed pub in Oz, the Surveyor General I think it’s called. There are lots of pretty towns in that Southern Highlands area that would make a nice day trip.
Hi Karen,
I looked it up online and it looks like that the Tulip Festival finished today!! But I do like the idea of driving up to Bowral so I am going to add that to our to do list for this week 🙂 Thanking you for the great idea.
Cheers
Lisa
Lisa you all are amazing and I am so glad we got the chance to meet those few times. I can relate to the many pressures of blogging and having to create a life you love rather than just following what everyone thinks is normal. It is harder than anyone can imagine yet comes with the most incredible joys I can’t imagine anything else now. Selling up and living a simple life here has shown us just what we can live without and funnily it is almost everything. We are really living on a shoestring and I wouldn’t go back for quids.
Blogging has an entire range of complexities not visible to a reader, it takes time and passion which can get exhausting. I’m so glad to hear you had a break when you needed and that YOU”RE BACK! I can’t imagine you listening to those negatives for long, you’re such a positive person xxx
sending love and once you’re finished in Australia get on a plane and come visit…. love to all the boys big and small x
Hi Lisa,
Meeting you and your family – that is what makes my life so very interesting.
And what makes my life worth while – connecting with like minded people. I love my blog, and no-one is ever going to take that away from me! I am stronger than I used to be so the NEGATIVE People go away and stay away, I am going to hold onto being happy!!
Thanking you so much for always being here for us, for the wonderful connection and for following our Journey.
xxx
What a fantastic trip. I love the idea of just being out on the road not knowing where exactly you will go next. How long you will stay in one place.
I’m not sure how I’d cope with living in a motorhome, but then most of your time is spent exploring, so maybe this wouldn’t be an issue.
Becc recently posted..Can you ZIP IT please?
Hi Becc,
My soul is craving the open Road so very much, and not knowing where I am going to be nor when – that to me is really living.
I so wished I had been brave enough to embrace this lifestyle years ago – I love the unknown. I love meeting new people, I love wondering whats around the next corner 🙂
Lisa, I always get a kick out of each post to find out the status of what bandaid the motor home needs! It’s taken on a personality all of it’s own in your family trek on the road! That dessert looks absolutely mouthwatering. Can it be shipped overnight to the States? 🙂

I so love how we are connecting here!! Would gladly send the dessert to you via Australia Post, not sure it would make it in one piece though 🙂
And yes the Motorhome has taken on its own life!
