I am so behind with blogging….I can’t seem to catch five minutes to myself at the moment, not sure why that is? Maybe cause we now have no “Fixed Address” and my life is very challenging with our Springs being fixed, and our situation with our pump not working cause we had our bus on a lean {the Springs were fixed so I will share more about that soon as I can} and our washing machine stopped working!!! Or maybe because of our changed of eating plans- having no grains and no sugar means I have to think of different recipes to cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Before our oldest son went away on his Navy Deployment he came down to spend a few days with us before he had to head back to his place in Sydney and get everything ready for leaving, he is now out at sea for six months and I am missing not having any contact with him – last time he had free wifi on the Ship and we could chat through Facebook PM but this time the ship is not set up the same way….and we can’t call him unless he is somewhere they have phone reception!!
One of our day trips was to Kanagroo Valley and the other road trip was to Carrington Falls.
*** Today we were able to speak with him briefly – and it was good to hear from him ***
Carrington Falls With Our Oldest Son ::
We drove up from Barrack Points to Carrington Falls With Our Oldest Son on one of the days they stayed with us…..and showed him a place I had taken Cameron and Kyle to before, David even came with us so it was a good family bonding day….
Carrington Falls is magical, if you are ever in New South Wales and you are near Wollongong or near Robertson then make sure you take a day or two to explore the Falls – there are lots of great walking tracks and beautiful swimming holes!
I never ever knew that our oldest son was so very scared of heights until this very moment in time…..it took a LOT to get him to stand in that very spot and get a picture with his youngest brother! See the tight grip he has on his little brother? Yeah he was holding on for support love!!!
This was such a special moment….he was mucking around and I grabbed him for a extra hug with the idea of “Don’t be scared, I got you safely in my arms”…..gosh how did he ever fit into my arms when he was little? He sure has grown tall over the years, and is such a fine man. I so miss him at the moment.
Cameron and Kyle were playing with building a “Rock Wall” to change the direction of the water….it was so fun to watch them playing together.
While three brothers were playing and having fun David grabbed my Camera and went for a Walk….he came across these amazing flowers….
David hardly ever takes photos when we are out and about…after seeing these gorgeous Pictures of the different types of flowers that he came across I think that I will give him the Camera more often.
After we explored the Water fall/Rock pool areas we went around to the Swimming Hole, which is not far from Carrington Falls – over the small wooden bridge and then take a left to a road that is a dead end. Parked the car and then a short stroll {50 metres} to Nellies Glen Natural Swimming Hole.
It wasn’t very warm that day so we didn’t actually go in for swim but the water was so very refreshing, and we have since returned to Carrington Falls with our second son, and Kyle was brave enough to go into Nellies Glen Swimming Hole {even though the day was warm the water was still very cool}
{The above Photo was actually taken awhile ago, when I took Cameron and Kyle to Carrington Falls but I haven’t had the time to blog about it!!!}
The Natural Pool will take your breathe away, its like walking down a dirt track to paradise, with a feeling of peacefulness rushing towards you and wrapping around your body. Taking a deep breath in, take a moment of quietness and embracing the feeling of love.
After checking out Nellies Glen at Carrington Falls we then went for a further walk to Missingham Lookout Carrington Falls, its about 1.9km down a dirt track, which is an easy walk for families but I don’t think you could push a pram down all of the way, maybe with a young one in a baby sling or baby backpack.
I asked for a Nice Family Photo and this is what I got!!! All of them were having fun mucking around 🙂
We tried again, and this is what I got….Kyle mucking around!
Third time lucky????
Nope again we had one mucking around for the family picture!!!
We enjoyed having our oldest son with us, going to Carrington Falls With Our Oldest son, so wished he was still here so that we could travel with him up north at Christmas Time! We had planned to hit the road with him as we leave New South Wales to drive to Queensland, with so many wonderful stops along the way but he had to go and get himself deployed instead!! Its going to be bitter sweet without him.
Have You Been To Carrington Falls?
Cheers
Lisa
New Life on the Road
For some reason this post brought tears to my eyes, Lisa. I don’t have a lot to say except that first sentence should say a lot that this was a great post. My best to you always, Mike 🙂

Thanking you Mike, I am not sure why I am only seeing this comment now? But thanking you so much for your love and support over the years.

Thinking of you and your family and wishing you a wonderful Christmas season. This too brings tears to my eyes Lisa as I’ve followed your journey these last couple of years and know how important and wonderful it would have been to have had that family Christmas all together. Your trip to the falls would have been a beautiful day to get in those hugs and just “be” altogether and can be remembered as your early Christmas get together xoxox
HI Toni-Louise,
Yes we loved having our son Hayden with us, but it was too brief a visit, and the deployment seemed like it went forever!!
We are so grateful for your love and support, we know you feel the same {with your son in the army} – family time is so precious and so few times together. Sending you love xxx
Aww thank you for sharing this post. I can’t imagine my two year old son at the age your eldest is, a grown up man one day! It must be so hard to be away from him especially being without internet access. But I’m glad you got to spend this lovely trip together. Carrington Falls looks stunning. The waterfalls and flowers are just beautiful. Love the family photos too and the young love 😉 Thanks very much for linking up #MyFavouriteTrip Polly x
