About a week ago (can’t remember the exact day?) we went for a drive. I wanted to drive to Ulladulla but we didn’t have enough Petrol in our older son’s car and it was not the end of the week (we fill up at the end of the week!) so I went as far as I could.
I drove down to Nowra with the feeling of where to go. Normally I like to drive and see where I end up, sometimes I plan but usually its David that plans our trips. I drive on gut instinct.
Even when I asked on our facebook page where I should go lots of people said just drive…which is what I did.
Once I got to Nowra I started to look around and wait for that feeling of where I should go next. It soon came up, at the next big set of traffic lights I took a left. Now this feeling is not something I can explain, and its not something that I can control….it happens and when I listen to it I normally end up where I am meant to be.
Our Lunch Break ~
at a great rest stop!
This day was one of those days…we drove to there was no road left. We parked the car, and our boys run over to the playground. While I got out and started to take photos of where we were, and realised we had come to a sleepy little bay side town. It was so sweet – two Fish n Chips shops were near by, a caravan park and the Greenwell Point Jetty.
Greenwell Point Jetty ~
Where we spent the day!
An older guy was watching me walking around taking photos. He came up to me to let me know that a fishing boat was about to come in and unload his catch for the day. He also let us know that we were able to go up close to see what they had and to take photos….so we did. Talk about “Natural Learning” for the day.
And we had the best time ever.
So glad I “listened to my voice”
They had buckets and buckets and buckets of fish…..some were really weird colours!!
On the way back I had seen a sign for a Zoo…so again I followed the sign at lead us down a narrow track to the most amazing spot ever. I can’t describe the feeling I had when we stopped to look at “Shoalhaven Zoo” nor can I describe the feeling that came over me while looking around “Riverfront Caravan Park”. I do know that I had the same feeling when we stayed at Bucasia Beachfront Caravan Park, as if we had come home.
Its like a feeling of “Being in the Right Place, at the Right Time” or even a feeling of being embraced. I do know that I can’t wait to return to Shoalhaven Zoo or even try to find a way to stay at the caravan park.
All in all we had a great day out, stopped at a great rest stop and slowly made our way home.
Each week we are getting out n about, driving as far as possible. Now we are trying to find where to go to next….thinking about Goulburn, or even Batemans Bay (from where our Motorhome was purchased from). Or drive as far as possible and stay over night somewhere – sure is a great way to cure my itchy feet – I gotta get out there and explore!

New Life on the Road.
I love the look of the jetty and fishing boats – is it on the ocean or a lake? I guess the ocean seeing there were so many fish. So did either of your boys decide they wanted to be fishermen? Sounds like a great place to have fish and chip shops!
budget jan recently posted..Resuming our Mekong River Trip from Luang Prabang to Pak Ou Caves
Its on the Ocean, and its such a beautiful spot!
Funny enough both boys didn’t ask to become fisherman…but I guess time will tell what they do become!
I thought it was funny how small the town was yet there was two fish and chip shops 🙂
