The other day we had time to spare, before both boys had to get their hair cuts. And I had seen the Bundaberg Community Garden from afar but hadn’t stopped to see it up close, so I thought why not make the time now!
Gavin Street has its own little community garden, and its so very sweet. They do have rules about taking only what you must, and leaving the rest to grow and share with others. Which makes sense – only take what you need to eat and leave the rest for others to have. I like the idea of feeding the community and sharing it around.
I also like how the community garden beds are made – up high in an old train carriage, and in boxes made out of old shipping pallets. Its so well designed/created/made and looks like it will be producing some amazing fruit/veggies/herbs once its well established.
Not sure who is helping to look after it all because while we visited it no one showed up, but it sure is going to be growing an abundance of food once its thriving.
After we walked through the Bundaberg Community Garden we then went to our now favorite hair dresser for the boys hair cuts. Next week I am booked in for my own hair cut!
He now has a fresh new look, and so does Cameron! They both were so needing a hair cut, and we walked out they haven’t had one since we were down in Ulladulla – where they had to both get one for their biggest brothers engagement party. Gee do they have hair that grows fast!
