A little while ago – can’t remember which weekend – we visited the Australia National Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour and then we jumped onto a Ferry and went to Manly New South Wales.
We had a mission….one have not completed as yet. We want to find David’s Grandad’s Memorial Chair that is somewhere in Manly over looking the ocean. Sounds easy right? Wrong – you try looking for a Seat with a Memorial Plaque written on it when its a very beautiful day and everyone is out and about. Every single Chair was taken up by someone sitting there, over looking the ocean and enjoying the view.
{Want to see more updated memory of Manly? Here is Manly Marine Parade Walking To Grandads Chair
So it means we will have to try and make another trip back as soon as we can to again search for the Memorial Seat.
But The Day Was Perfect And We Had Fun ::
We have come across Love Padlocks before but this is the very first time we have ever come across Dummies with Padlocks….wondering why they are locked to a fence? Never seen it before but it sure is different.
Kyle seems to love climbing up high….trees are normally where I find him when ever we are out exploring. Now he has decided to “Climb Rocks” whenever he can. We all walked along the path while he tried to climb the rocks {we took him down to walk along the path with us for safety reasons!}
As were walking along both Cameron and Kyle looked down to see “Little Statues” cemented into the Stand Stone Wall….they loved looking out for the next one!
Both boys so loved Manly and we had fun dragging them away to head back on the Ferry – they both wanted to stay and play. But it was getting late and David had to head back to the Motorhome {parked at work} while I headed back with both boys to our oldest sons house. Now we are all back together once more which is so very good!!
Both boys were extremely tired by the time we got back! It was late, the sun had gone down and we had a mad rush to have dinner and showers before bed.
We had all walked so many steps that day – way more then we normally do and I guess we all slept really well!
We will have to make another trip back to Manly New South Wales before heading out of here. Even if we don’t find David’s late Grandads Chair at least we had fun trying!

Have You Been To Manly?

New Life on the Road
You’re life on the road looks fantastic.
I think the love locks with attached dummies are placed there by parents or loved ones whose children passed away at Bear Cottage, the children’s hospice just a short distance from there.
We walked this path many times with our little girl before she passed away there last November, but we kept her dummy. It’s heartbreaking that she’s gone but we were so lucky to have had such a special place to go with her.
Take care and enjoy each day.
Hello Tash,
I want to take a moment to say thanking you for sharing your precious daughter and her sweet life….I am so very sorry you lost her far too young.
Thanking you for taking the time to let me know why the dummies are chained on the fence….totally makes sense now.
Please know that I am sending you lots of love
Lisa
