We wanted to go away for Easter Weekend. A camping trip with our swags. And we did look at different places to go camping, but we realised that the previous weekend of house sitting meant we couldn’t get away from our motorhome as we had maintenance that must be done – our Motorhome roof needs a good wash and a repaint!
So I looked at Mt Walsh National Park Rock Pool as a day to get out and about. So glad that I did because it was a great place to escape and explore.
Mind you our GPS took us down the wrong road, and down the wrong pathway and we ended up on someones property! Luckily the owner came along with his son, on their motorbikes and re-directed us off their property without shooting us!!!
If you are ever near Mt Walsh National Park then make sure you look up the Rock Pools – its on Utopia Road Mt Walsh – near Biggenden {the town of where we picked up our dog Beauty}
The walk from the car park to the Rock Pools is easy. Its about one hour return walk – we easily finished it way before the recommended 1 hour.
Cant wait to go back to Mt Walsh National Park as they have a trek that goes from anywhere between 2-5 hours to the top of the mountain, which really is calling my name – for lots more adventures.
I cant believe how cold it was and yet Kyle was so very keen to get into the Rock Pooks and cool off. Actually I kinda wished I had thought to bring my swimmers because the water was really nice on my feet and could imagine how refreshing it would have been to jump into it!
Those steps were super cool – they felt like they were made from plastic but they just must be made in a factory and placed there.
We are so grateful that we found Mt Walsh National Park Rock Pool – super sorry to the Farmer for listening to our GPS and taking the wrong road to get there!
Have You Been To The Rock Pools?
Cheers
Lisa
New Life on the Road
Your one-day getaway looks super fun! I’m wondering whether the river water came from the mountains. Was it cold?

It was really cool but really refreshing. Not sure where the water was coming from but I think it was deeper whenever it rained heavy up there 🙂
Hi Lisa,
I am familiar with the general area but wasn’t aware of the Mt Walsh National Park Rock Pool, and the walks around there. Pictures really show the place up well. Perhaps a trip for the summer, as it seems so cold in these images. Will do a mirror job and look into it. Thank you.
Cheers Sharon…

Hi Sharon,
It sure was fresh that day. What got us – there is no signs on the road telling anyone where to go – there is nothing to say you are on the right track/road leading up to the Mt Walsh National Park Rock Pool. It’s not until you get to the car park do you realise that you are in the right spot. I have heard it is a really popular spot in the summer time because its the perfect place to cool down! Hope you get to check it out 🙂
Hi again Lisa,
Just wondering how far you may travel in your motor home.
There is a great rock pool complex in the Northern Territory at Litchfield National park that is more than worthy of a good look. Not that far out of Darwin.

Hi Sharon,
Oh gosh that sounds amazing – I have heard amazing things about Litchfield National Park – I think one of our older boys were talking about it as they travel a fair bit with the navy. And now one of them has a 4wd Ute and is keen to explore Australia. Will add it to our ever-growing bucket list for sure 🙂
